Setting-up Outlook Express to Send & Receive e-mails Using POP3 a/c

  • Select Tools > Accounts... menu option.

  • Click on the Mail tab sheet.
  • Click on Add button and select Mail... option.

  • In the Display Name prompt provide your full name. You can have spaces or fullstops also.
  • Click Next button.

  • Select "I already have an e-mail addres that I'd like to use" option
  • Provide your email address.
  • For example, your email account is tc and your domain is TeluguCartoons.com, then type tc@telugucartoons.com
  • Click Next button.

  • Choose POP3 for the 'incoming mail server' option.
  • Type m12.HamaraShehar.com for both incoming mail and out going mail.
  • Click Next button.

  • Provide your full email address in account name. For example: tc@telugucartoons.com
  • Type your password.
  • Click Next button.

  • Click 'Finish' button.

  • Now you are back to 'Internet Accounts' screen.
  • Click on Mail tab sheet.
  • You will see an account titled 'm8.hamarashehar.com'.
  • Click on that account name.
  • Click on Properties button.

  • Click on the 'General' Tab sheet.
  • Change the first prompt that has 'm8.hamarashehar.com' to YourLogin POP3. For ex: contact POP3. This step is optional, you can leave that field as it is or you can provide any name here.
  • Make sure "Include this account when receiving mail or synchronizing" option is checked.

  • Click on 'Servers' tab sheet.
  • Check on 'My Server Requires Authentication' option.

  • Click on 'Advanced' tab.
  • Change 'Outgoing mail (SMTP):' port to 465 from 25.
  • Turn on 'This server requires a secure connection (SSL)'.
  • Change 'Server Timeouts' to 2 minutes by dragging the slider to right. This is not a required step, but doesn't hurt. It will be helpful in peak times.
  • Click on "OK" button.

  • Now you are back to 'Internet Accounts' screen.
  • Click on 'Close' button.
  • Now, if you click on Tools > Send and Receive menu options, you will see the newly created account.
  • You are set to send and receive emails using this new email account.
  • If you are not able to send and/or receive messages, send us an email with complete error message you see on the screen. If you do NOT send error messages in email, it will delay the whole process.
