The Goose That Laid Golden Eggs

Index Printer Version Email to Friend

Once upon a time, a man had a goose that laid eggs.

Now what was special about this goose was that the eggs it laid were not like the eggs that any other goose laid. They were golden eggs!

One would think the man would be happy about the golden eggs. He was happy, yes - but he was greedy too!

He used to think, "I only get one golden egg every day. Why should I not have all the eggs at once? I will kill the goose, and then I will take all the eggs out of it. That way I can sell all the eggs at once and become rich!"

So, one fine day the man killed his goose. When he cut the goose open, what do you think he found? The goose was just like any other the goose. There was not even a single golden egg in it!

Because of his eagerness to have all the eggs at once, he even lost his goose that laid the golden eggs!

Moral - Greediness makes you lose all that you have!
