M.D.(Siddha)Course 2002-2003

Applications are invited for admission to the M.D.(Siddha)Post Graduate Course 2002-2003 in the following branches at Government Siddha Medical College, Palayamkottai, Tirunelveli District and Government Siddha Medical College, Chennai-106 for General/Special categories including Foreign candidates (like Srilanka, Malaysia, Singapore) Govt. of India nominee.

Qualification for Admission (Except Foreign candidates)

A pass in B.I.M (Siddha) or B.S.M.S. Degree Examination of the Madurai Kamaraj University/Tamil Nadu Dr.M.G.R Medical University/Madras University with successful completion of internship. The candidates should have registered their names either in the Tamil Nadu Board of Indian Medicine or in the Tamil Nadu Siddha Medical Council, Chennai-106.

For Foreign Candidates

1. Candidate should have passed BIM (or) BSMS Degree awarded by Madras University/Madurai Kamaraj University/Tamil Nadu Dr.M.G.R Medical University with successful completion of internship.

2. A pass in the BIM or BSMS Examination considered equivalent thereto which has been recognised by the Central Council of Indian Medicine, New Delhi.

3. Candidates should have passed BSMS Degree awarded by Jaffna University, Srilanka or any other Degree Course recognised by the Central Council of Indian Medicine, New Delhi and with successful completion of internship.

4. Candidates those who have passed the said course other than Tamil Nadu Dr.M.G.R.Medical University should obtained the eligibility certificate from Tamil Nadu Dr.M.G.R Medical University for admission into M.D. (Siddha) course.

5. The candidates should have been registered under Tamil Nadu Board of Indian Medicine/Tamil Nadu Siddha Medical Council, Chennai.

Duration of the course: 3 Years

Mode of Selection:

Selection to this course will be made on merit, based on the marks obtained by the Candidate in the Entrance Examination to be conducted exclusively for this course by this Directorate plus service marks duly adopting Rule of Reservation.

The application form together with the Prospectus can be obtained in person from the Principal,Government Siddha Medical College, Arignar Anna Government Hospital of Indian Medicine Campus, Arumbakkam, Chennai 600 106 and The Principal, Government Siddha Medical College, Palayamkottai, Tirunelveli District by giving a requisition letter along with a Crossed Demand Draft obtained from any one of the Nationalised Banks drawn on or after 03/04/2002 for Rs.750/- (Rupees Seven Hundred and fifty only) or equivalent value of US dollars and drawn in favour of the “Director of Indian Medicine and Homoeopathy”, Chennai-106 payable at Chennai. The applications will be issued from 003/04/20002 onwards. S.C./S.T. Candidates of Tamil Nadu are exempted from paying cost of application fee for Rs.750/- S.C./S.T. candidates of Tamil Nadu has to produce a Xerox copy of the Community Certificate along with a letter containing the following particulars for getting the application form. 1. Name 2. Address 3. College last studied 4. Belonging to SC or ST 5. Signature 6. Copy of Degree Certificate/Provisional Degree Certificate (The application form issued to SC/ST candidates cannot be used by others).

SC/ST (Tamil Nadu) candidates on production of Xerox copy of the Community Certificate and the letter as described earlier may also be obtained the application form by post by sending a requisition with a self addressed envelope of size 30 cm x 20 cm duly affixing postage stamps to the value of Rs.50/-(Rupees fifty only) along with the Demand Draft for Rs.750/-

The filled in application together with enclosures should reach the Secretary, Selection Committee, Directorate of Indian Medicine and Homoeopathy, Chennai-106 in the cover provided for on or before 5:00 PM on 06/05/2002. Applications received after the due date and time will be rejected.

Postal delay. Belated receipt of filled in applications will be rejected summarily. No correspondence will be entertained.
