The College is a pioneer in offering an Undergraduate Degree Course, B.E. Marine Engineering the first of its kind in India approved by D.G. Shipping, Ministry of Surface Transport, Government of India; AICTE, New Delhi and affiliated to the Anna University.
The Course is conducted as per STCW 95 convention and is fully residential. The training includes physical training, games and work out in the gym and regular swimming practice.
Practical Marine Engineering workshop training of 6 months duration (afloat and ashore) is conducted at Cochin Shipyard Ltd.
On a sprawling area of 4,784 sqm. The marine engineering block has well equipped laboratories that house some o the most technologically advanced machinery like Main Propulsion Engine PIELSTICK 5130 HP,350 KW Caterpillar Generator, deck compressor, incinerator, sewage treatment plant, hydraulic steering gear, water tube boiler, fresh water generator, turbo driven cargo oil pump, plate heat exchanger, fixed and portable fire fighting equipment worth Rs.1crore.
