Har dil jo Pyar karega (Hindi)

Release: 4-8-2000.

The recent releases of the Hindi films is a striking example of Bollywood's dependence on South Indian films.

The film "Har dil jo pyar karega" is a remake of "Chandralekha" in Telugu of Nagarjuna. "Kunwara" and "Papa the great" are the mixture of Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam hits. The story and themes are neatly lifted but the presentation suffers many drawbacks. In spite of the seductive looks of Rani Mukharji, the muscle display of Salman Khan and Preethi Jinta's glamour the film turned out to be bland.

This is a triangle love story revolving round the hero who aspires to become a great singer and gets down to a big city. In bid to rescue Poona (Rani Mukharji) from a gruesome car accident he fall victim in the hands of fate. Pooja decides that Raj would be her husband and he has to act accordingly for the sake of her health. In real he is in love with Jahnavi (Preethi Jinta), who is also in love with Raj. So who would win Raj is the suspense to be revised in the climax.

One expects a good handling of the film if one saw Badal by Raj Kanvar. The technique of handling Badal is far more superior to this one. Rani Mukharji could not do justice to her role, which had a lot of scope for acting. Salman Khan looks as if he is at the verge of retiring from acting. Preethi Jinta's glamour would be a plus point to the film. The cacophonic music adds to the disgust of the audience but for one song. On the whole it is the inefficiency of the director who could not add charm to a popular story.
