Expectations turned down, Repallelo Radha

The expectations of the audiences based on the title Repallelo Radha is drastically crushed in spite of big artistes in the movie.

The moment one hears the title, Repallelo Radha, they expect that to be a beautiful love story on par with that of Lord Krishna and Radha. Especially, when a senior director like Sarath is on the panel, the potential of the movie is estimated high. However, the film transformed into an audience patience tester in almost every bit of the screening.

Repallelo Radha is a pure form of Telugu usage. A beautiful village like Brindavan, hero and heroines performing the beautiful love scenes and all the more anticipation clicks into ones mind from the title of the film. There are numerous roles in the film and a galaxy of stars performing them. Still, none of the characters including the action of the seasoned artistes could attract the audiences. Reason being, when there is no strong story base, any number of performers cannot bring glitter to the product.

If a glance is put on to the story, Madhav (Dilip), abroad educated, fascinated by the Indian culture and tradition along with the village environ and relations visits a village in the state. He falls in love with a village girl, a routine, Radha (Diksha). Heroine’s father Satyanarayana declines the proposal with a ridiculous reason.

He wants his daughter to settle in the city. Hero proposes to set up a factor in the village and settle there and if he does that, she would not get an opportunity to settle in the city. This is the dumb reason put up by heroine’s father to reject the proposal for marriage by the hero.

The most disturbing issue in the film is that the backdrop of the story is exclusively village front. However, this is contradicted by the director with his selection of semi-nude dresses and foreign locations for filming songs for the movie. All the so-called efforts of the stars and crew went down the drain as not even a single scene or twist could take to hearts of the audiences.

Finally a situation comes where in the spectator questions himself, why did one make this movie and why had they come to view this film.
