An Okay Mass Masala Movie

Chiranjeevulu is a movie filled with mass masala. This one should have turned a better film if the script was given a little more attention. Comparatively script is better to music and lyrics. A better degree of care towards music and lyrics might have strengthened chances for success.

Still, there is a probability for the movie in the B and C centres of the state. Eventually, if the producer cannot bag much reap commercially on the profit side, he may be content with the return of investment.

The storyline rotates around four friends, Two of them sick and the other two healthy. Doctor treating Brahmaji and Shivaji, undergoing treatment for cancer, confirms them to be in their final stages. Ravi Theja and Varun Raj, other two in the square, propose to take their ailing friends to some rejuvenating climate filled village. A brotherly relation develops for the four with a nurse in the hospital. She invites them to her house on the Rakhi festival occasion.

Before leaving for a village, the four reach to greet their sister on Rakhi. Her husband (Bharani) always chases her for money. It happens so, while these four reach her house, Bharani forcibly attempts to drive her towards prostitution. Brahmaji, Shivaji, Ravi Theja, and Varun Raj counter the attempt and in the fight one of the ‘customer’ brought by Bharani is dead. All the courageous four friends flee the scene and land in a distant village. Here starts the other parallel story interlacing with the friends lives.

Naga Babu, head of the village is a righteous and disciplined man. Another villager Satya Prakash, a rich and brutal man will be behind the village head’s chair. Both the families will be on the opposite sides of the fire for decades. Cinematically, Naga Babu’s daughter and Satya Prakash’s son fall in love with each other. Satya Prakash hatches a coup against Naga Babu and his son and kills them successfully.

The four reach this village in fire and stand fort to the people against the misdeeds of Satya Prakash. Sanghavi, a milk vendor of the village falls in love with Ravi Theja. All of them unite to end the movie by getting Satya Prakash’s son and Naga Babu’s daughter married.
