Asmangadh Fort is more of a palace than a fort. It was designed and built by Asman Jahi, a Paigah noble and erstwhile Prime minister of Hyderabad.
Located on top of a hill in the eastern part of Hyderabad, this fort provides an impressive view of the surroundings through granite turrets and arched windows.
A visit to Raymond's Tomb (around half a kilometre south), subsequent browsing through the displays at Birla Archaeological Museum and then seeking the blessing of Lord Venkateswara at his Temple should complete the southeastern leg of the tour of Hyderabad.
