Bhalevaadivi Baasu (Telugu)"Balevaadivi Basu" sans novelty disappoints
Samarasimha Reddy had created new milestone in Telugu film history and recent hit Narsimha Naidu recreated the magic spell of the former and catapulted the hero Balakrishna’s image to dizzy heights. Latter film running to packed to houses and mesmerised the audience and heading to silver jubilee in many theatres in the state.
Latest offering from the hero naturally created a lot of expectations but it disappointed his fans with lacklustre story sans novelty.
Film was set in a forest backdrop. Smuggling and robberies have become order of the day in the forest. Tribals of the forest were being exploited. In this scenario hero comes to the forest as a forest officer. He comes to the rescue of the tribals and makes the small hamlet into a satellite town. He creates a ray of hope among the girijans. They see God in him.
Tribal girl Anjala Jhaveri loves the hero and Shilpa Shetty who happens to come to the forest as a lady officer starts loving him. As everything is going smooth, a woman appears and tells that hero is in the guise of forest officer and he is a cheat and murderer and reveals that her sibling Sagar is a genuine officer. Then the story turns into suspense.
Story lacks novelty and with dull screenplay it bores the audience. It looks a la old wine in a new bottle. Only saving grace of the film is its music under baton of Manisharma one or two songs are hummable and worth listening and dances also can also have dekho with good steps from the hero and heroines.
