Sampangi (Telugu)

Sampangi spreads fragrance of love

The shackles and hurdles for love between two young hearts still exist in this 21st century also. Some times, it is religion and caste, in some instances money and muscle power and in some issues it is the friendship of elders, which hamper freedom of love.

Sampangi is a love story that sprouts between two young hearts from two families belonging to different religions. The association and friendship of elders of the families creates a scare in the young that their love affair might give rise to friction among the elders.

Shanker Narayana (Ranganath), Osman (Chalapathi Rao) belong to different religions, which is evident from their names. They are of the kind, out of friendship, prepare for any sacrifice for each other. That is the strength of their friendship fabric. For attending the marriage of Osman’s eldest daughter, Shanker Narayana visits Hyderabad along with his family. And according to the cinematic and dramatic tradition Abhishek (Deepak) third son of Narayana and Rizwana (Kanchi Kowl), second daughter of Osman fall in love at first sight. Both start drowning in each other’s love flow. Meanwhile, suddenly Narayana falls sick. His position goes sensitive because of kidney failure.

Immediately, Osman responds and meets the situation by getting his kidney transplanted to Narayana and saves him from the claws of death. Abhishek overwhelmed with joy for the relation his father and Rizwana’s father have on one side and on the other hand is absolutely scared to keep them informed about his love with Rizwana. Abhishek is preoccupied with a feeling that his love might create a gap in the friendship of elders.

Suffering within, Abhishek decides upon to sacrifice his love for the continuance and permanency of relation between Narayana and Osman. Confused and not noticing the conflicts in Abhishek’s mind Rizwana struggles. Climax is anyone’s guess.

New faces Deepak and Kanchi Kowl justified their casts. Mentioning Kanchi Kowl as naughty girl will be fair. Every actor and actress in the movie performed to his or her best. Ranganath and Chalapathi Rao as Shanker Narayana and Osman in combination with Sangeetha and Venniradai Nirmala respectively exhibited every feeling with perfection and balance depicting their experience.

Though the film does not have great story and contains much of director’s specialities, the movie flows smooth and comfortable. This is a fourth venture for Sana Yadi Reddy as director. One cannot guarantee a box office bonanza success, but this film will not dissatisfy the common spectator viewing it for the first time. The commercial expectations of producer would be met on average. Tunes and music composed by Ghantadi Krishna and lyrics of Varikuppala Yadagiri can be considered good.

Over all Sampangi, spreads some fragrance of love.
