Nuvvu Nenu (Telugu)

Theja’s sharp comeback with Nuvvu Nenu

Theja debuted into the cinema industry as director through Chitram. He received a high grade as most successful director with this movie. Family Circus, Theja’s second attempt as director pulled his gradation deep down.

Though Chitram was well received by the audience, he was still amateurish. It is definitely a sharp comeback for Theja as good quality director with Nuvvu Nenu, which is pulling crowds to the theatres.

Nuvvu Nenu is heading ahead in collections compared to the given budget films released along with it. The best of the things to note about this movie is that eventhough the story and roles characterisation is as old as the Telugu cinema industry, the narration style and rhythmic presentation of screenplay is making the audience glued to their seats right from the curtain raise to the fall.

Screenplay is definitely backbone for any movie to stand to the rigorous critical tests from audience. The simplest possible love story started ages ago from Devadasu. A rich landlord’s son falls in love with a neighbouring poor girl. Of course, that episode was based on a Bengali novel.

Here, hero is the lone son of a stinking rich businessman. The father character is always bothered about his social status, prestige and level of behaviour. Moreover, he never bothers about his son’s well being since he was incessantly busy with elite class women every evening.

As usual, the neglected son of a rich man, hero is more interested everything other than studies and qualifications. He is more inclined towards sports and games. Heroine, a classmate feels sorry for his personal stature. She goes successful in diverting his concentration from sports to studies and succeeds in impressing him. Hero loses his ‘poor’ heart for her.

He is heir to his father’s empire worth hundreds of crores where as she is ward of an ordinary milk vendor. Again as usual, the billionaire father comes to know of the relations and affections between his son and milk vendor’s daughter, turns into a villain to the love and starts creating obstacles. Just, the celluloid love duo fights against all the odds that came their way and gives strong life to their love.

Udaya Kiran as hero, Prasad as wealthy father, Thanikella Bharani as heroine’s father, and Sakunthala as heroine’s aunty and Sangeetha as heroine’s mother enlivened their roles and did justice. Special applause should be given to Anitha, heroine for her expertise in presenting excellent expressions.

Anitha though did heroine for the first time, gave out all the talent in her. Her performance keeps her non-charming beauty and personality down. She if continues to do justice to the roles given to her, will definitely have a bright future in the industry.

When we look behind the screen persons who supported the movie on par with the director Theja, cinematographer Rasool stands on the top of the list. Music and Editing also has a confirmative nod from the audiences.

Overall, the audience might give Nuvvu Nenu a ‘good’ grade.
