The members of the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) walked out of the Assembly Affairs Committee meeting on Thursday, when the demand for 15-day extension of the session was not conceded. Later Dr YSR and other members addressed a press conference. Severe drought conditions, deteriorating Law and Order, power crisis were the main issues, which the Congress wised to discuss in the House. The state government was scared that its negligence and failure in handling the crisis would be made public, Dr YSR commented.
The demand of the responsible opposition was not accepted as the rulers do not have courage to face the people, Dr Y S R scored out. After there was a huge pressure from Congress for including the drought, relief operations, Eleru scandal, power crisis, law and order situation, the committee finally agreed upon to discuss on the single issue drought conditions in the state.
On Friday and Monday, there would be a detailed discussion in the House on the issue, he said. He demanded for implementation of the earlier system of convening sessions at least for 70 to 80 days annually. During the press conference the Congress released a fact findings publication on the drought and relief operations of the government.
